Flavors from AFar
As part of of our sustainability practice, we established a social enterprise model and recently aquired a full-time kitchen in Little Ethiopia, Los Angeles & a part-time residency at the Hook Kitchen in Costa Mesa, CA. This program is designed for program participants who find great joy in Culinary Arts. By empowering program participants, we are able to provide on-the-job workforce training, individualized mentorship, and opportunities for personal development. Chefs of our program learn all the necessary tools to succeed in catering and are incouraged to start their own endeavors. Current participants specialize in food from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Somalia, Syria, and Venezuala.
