Our Impact in 2025
Every number below is a person: a family settling into a new home, a student walking into their first day of class, a chef sharing a recipe carried across borders. With the support of our donors, here is some of the impact we made together in 2025:
Supported
250 households, 344 individuals, and 22 children in Southern California
Economic Advancement
32 participants received secure job placement from our partners, including the UCLA Dining & Catering program, Picaresca Cafe, the Los Angele Public Library, & more.
25 Countries
expanded our reach to serve families from approximately 25+ different countries
Languages
services for 15 different languages and hired in-house translators / interpreters who were former participants of Tiyya
Youth
we organized a monthly tea & tots program that supported 321 children and babies with a total of 104,941 diapers, 1,944 packs of wipes, and more.
Curated
in partnership with farmers & merchants bank, we launched sounds from afar, a series where each event pairs a guest refugee or immigrant chef with a music instructor, immersing guests in the cuisine and music of a different region.
The problems we solve

Our participants learn to be confident by practicing English while attending workshops and social gatherings hosted by Tiyya.

Community and peer support with new and former refugees and immigrants from Tiyya. This is the start of social development and neighbourhood orientation that helps our participants meet new friends and process past traumas.
