Bridgette is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health and is interested in research that explores the relationship between immigrant neighborhoods and health, looking specifically at how social and material characteristics of a community influence black immigrant birth outcomes. Her love for Tiyya stems from the impact it makes in creating safe, cross-cultural experiences to support refugee transitions in communities throughout Orange County.
Quote she lives by: "If you can't fly, then run, if you can't run, then walk, if you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." - MLK Jr.
Where she hopes to be in the next few years: Engaging in meaningful research!
